It was a rewarding trip north for the Phoenix returning from Gwernyfed with a bonus point win.

Some slick handling in the opening 10 minutes saw Ricky Allsopp and Wayne “Irish” Williams cross the try line with Ross Jones converting.  0-14

Treharris continued the momentum with Ricky Allsopp breaking through the Gweryfed defence to put Ross Jones away for the third try. 0-19

A penalty for not rolling away saw the home side penalised when Ross Jones extended the score. 0-22

Gwernyfed were rewarded for a well marshalled rolling maul to get on the score sheet. 7-22

The home side were reduced to 13 men just before half time-Jack Morris took advantage and put Lloyd Bennett away for the bonus point try, Ross Jones converted. 7-29

Ricky Allsopp started the second half the same way he started the first with his second try. 7-34

Gwernyfed doubled their score with another try from a rolling maul. 12-34

To finish the afternoon JaCK Morris produced a lovely solo run which put Rhys Davies away, with Daryl Minett finishing the move.
